As UX Lead, I partnered with Nonacus, a global leader in genomic healthcare, to improve the GALEAS® SaaS platform — a tool designed by scientists, for scientists, that supports oncologists and laboratories worldwide with advanced cancer genome analysis.
Nonacus needed a modernized, user-focused interface for GALEAS®, along with a scalable design system aligned with their new branding. Their product, GALEAS® Bladder, is a groundbreaking non-invasive bladder cancer test that delivers molecular triage for patients with hematuria, providing highly sensitive results that reduce the need for invasive procedures like cystoscopies. The challenge was designing a specialized, scientific interface in a niche industry with very few design references, requiring deep research, adaptability, and close collaboration with domain experts.
Conducted competitor benchmarking (despite limited references in the field), and focused heavily on user needs and workflows to shape an intuitive experience.
Worked closely with scientists and medical researchers, iterating in real time to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with laboratory processes.
Designed and tested interactive, complex prototypes to validate flows and interactions before development.
Built a scalable, live design system with automated, auto-layout components and reusable patterns. This ensured consistency, reduced design/development time, and provided Nonacus with a “single source of truth” for future iterations.
